TDS LIVE | Achieving Food Security by Balancing Policy Space and Policy Discipline

Session objectives

This session reviews existing evidence about how unilateral policy interventions have exacerbated agricultural market fluctuations and discuss the nature of policy space needed by countries, especially in sub Saharan Africa, to achieve their food security agenda. The role of international cooperation is illustrated both through the role of the WTO and trade integration, and the targeted interventions of key donors at the country level.
