Session objectives 

The South African Institute of International Affairs together with the Cordell Hull Institute and Partners from around the world has concluded a two year project entitled “Restoring Multilateral Trade Co-operation”. Other project partners in this dialogue project included the following: Centre for Policy Dialogue (Dhaka),China Centre for International Development, Fundacao Getulio Vargas and Instituto de Pesquia Economica Aplicada (Brazil), Korean Institute for International Economic Policy (South Korea), Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (New Delhi) and the European University Institute’s Global Governance Program (Florence). The session will introduce the project and advance a series of recommendations directed at restoring the centrality of the WTO to the global trading system.
