Ambassador/PR of the Nepal to the UN, other International Organisations and the WTO in Geneva, Government of Nepal

HE Mr Deepak Dhital is Nepal’s Ambassador/Permanent Representative in Geneva since November 2014. He was Head of United Nations, International Organizations and International Law Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of Nepal prior to his appointment as the Ambassador. Mr Dhital entered the Nepal Diplomatic Service in June 1999 as an Under Secretary (Director). Before this he was serving in Nepal Administrative Service since 1986. After joining the Diplomatic Service, he has served at Nepalese Embassies in Brussels, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok. 
Amb Dhital has spent over two-third of his time while at the MoFA dealing with regional and multilateral affairs. He has attended a large number of regional as well as multilateral conferences on various cross-cutting and thematic issues as a part of the Nepalese delegation. He was also involved in a number of high level bilateral meetings in the course of his career.
Mr. Dhital was involved in international publicity and promotion of Nepal's tourism under the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation in his capacity as Section Officer (1986- 1999). He has also briefly worked as a journalist—as an assistant editor with the National News Agency and a sub-editor with 'The Rising Nepal' English daily (between 1984 and 1986).
He holds an M. Sc. (Management) from the University of Surrey, UK (1997). He is also Masters in Public Administration from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
