Pierre Gröning is Head of International Trade Policy at the Foreign Trade Association (FTA), the leading business association of European and international commerce that promotes the values of free trade and sustainable supply chains. FTA represents over 1,500 retailers, importers and brand manufacturers to promote and defend free trade and supports their international business by providing information and practical solutions towards sustainability in the international supply chain.
In the context of FTA sustainability, BSCI is the leading initiative aimed at improving working conditions in factories and farms worldwide. FTA also provides the Business Environmental Performance (BEPI) that supports enhanced environmental performance in international supply chains. More information is available at www.fta-intl.org.
Pierre is responsible for developing the FTA’s international trade policy strategy and is representing the association’s interest at the EU level and towards the WTO. Before joining FTA in 2011, he was with a Brussels-based public affairs consultancy. Pierre Gröning, a French-German national, holds a Master’s degree from the College of Europe in Bruges and a PhD on EU-India relationship from the University of Münster. He has published a number of articles on international trade issues and free trade agreements.
