Gabriela Wurcel is Director International Treaties, Trade & Investment Policy at Philip Morris International (PMI). In that role, she leads the design and implementation of policies and programs to enable efficient international movement of goods and is responsible for a variety of topics including market access, barriers to trade, investment protection and intellectual property. Gabriela also represents the company externally on all topics of her competence.
Before joining PMI, Gabriela was a trade negotiator and legal advisor for the Permanent Mission of Israel to the World Trade Organization (WTO). She took active part in the Doha Round of negotiations including the Cancun and Hong Kong Ministerial Conferences and was elected vice-Chair of the Committee on Antidumping Practices.
A trained journalist, Gabriela worked for several years in the major national newspapers in Argentina, writing on International Trade, Economy and Politics. She also authored a number of articles on different aspects of international trade.
Gabriela is an Argentine and Swiss national. She holds a Law degree from the University of Buenos Aires and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Bologna. She is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Italian.
