Maryanne MACHERU

State Counsel, Office of the Attorney General, Kenya

Ms Maryanne Macheru is a State Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General, Kenya. Her responsibilities include representing the government on commercial law claims before domestic courts and tribunals, advising government ministries and state agencies on international agreements as well as negotiating, drafting and reviewing government contracts. In 2013-2014, she served as a Seconded Lawyer at the ACWL in Geneva. She has an LL.B. (Honours) from the University of Nairobi and an LL.M. in International Trade, Business and Investments Law from University of the Western Cape, South Africa. She is admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
