Trade Economist, Food and Agriculture Organization
Victoria Chomo Is a PhD economist specializing in international trade. She has over 20 years’ experience in commodities trade, trade policies and economic development. She served with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. International Trade Commission, and College of Agriculture Sultan Qaboos University, as well as 14 years with the United Nations. Over the last four years in FAO with the Products Trade and Marketing Branch, Fisheries and Aquaculture Deartment, she focuses on market-based measures to promote sustainable aquatic resource utilization, namely: seafood standards and certification, seafood traceability systems to combat IUU fishing, WTO agreements relevant for fisheries and food products, and trade policies that facilitate adaptation to climate change by building resiliency along the value chain.
